PostSubject: Newsletter 151, january 29th   Tue Feb 03, 2009 12:40 am

Well, here’s my attempt at shortening down a newsletter… as some of my friends say, “You talk way too f***ing much!”… how true.

Slayers TRY
Claymore
Fate Stay/Night
Tenchi Muyo GxP
Kiddy Grade x2
Ranma ½ S3

Slayers TRY 21- the search for the final Weapon of Light has lead to a frozen wasteland… or rather, a temple in the middle of one. Lina and co. discover its sealed, and by dragon magic no less… magic of the golden dragons. Wondering at what’s sealed away, Filia breaks the seal as they enter, with the gods + Xelloss close behind. As they go in, they discover the bodies of other dragons within… specifically the Ancient Dragons. We then end up learning the truth: During the war of the Monsters fall, the Golden Dragons called upon the Ancient Dragons for help. The Ancients had an immensely powerful weapon, but wanting peace, they refused to use it… and the Golden didn’t like that. As Filia must accept this truth, she next begins unsealing that power… and Lina and co. must now keep their pursuers busy while Filia takes care of business.

Claymore 7- We see a few Claymore in town, with two competing to see who’s killed more… though that game is quickly put on hold when a third arrives to remind them of their purpose. She also brings news that each has been demoted a number, and they meet the new Number 2 soon enough… a young girl by the name of Priscilla, who might seen a bit ditsy at first… but she’s quite deadly. Teresa and Clare arrive in town, and she attempts to hide herself, but to no avail… and thus 3-5 attack her at the inn, though she puts up a hell of a fight. She manages to break away, and turns into the next problem: Priscilla can completely disguise her yoki aura. We also learn that Teresa is Number 1 due to her power to detect even the slightest bit of yoma aura… which makes Priscilla her perfect killer. Until she then relies on pure strength alone, and even Priscialla must have her head saved (literally). Thus it becomes 4 vs. 1… and Priscilla, determined to take Teresa down, powers up…

Fate Stay/Night 1- Enter high school student Emiya Shirou. Not too much special about him, as long as you overlook the fact that he can pretty much determine how anything works/what’s broken my merely touching it (women are a different story altogether). He hears of strange events from his classmates, and naturally has curiosity, but not too much beyond that. Meanwhile, Rin Tosaka and a guardian of hers (Archer, to be precise) are searching the city for other sorcerers, a feat not easy accomplished by Archer. She too is a student where Emiya goes, and is known to be a cold girl to people (really, she’s just a tsundere). We also learn of Emiya’s past in this episode, that he was taken in when his parents were killed, and by a sorcerer no less. Because of this, Emiya is also trying to give kindness to others. However, this guy passed away as well, and therefore Emiya lives by himself but is being watched over by a couple of girls. Basically, this was just a set-up episode for the world that he will soon find himself dragged into, especially after one random girl makes a comment about him summoning something, else he’ll be killed.

Tenchi Muyo GxP 10- Having been promoted, Seina is assigned to be on a decoy ship in order to use his bad luck to lure pirates in. Only problem is, he decides to ask directions from Mitoto... and she ends up leading him onto the main ship as she goes about cleaning (why did this woman have to have a daughter? Or any child, for that matter?). The main ship, in the meanwhile, ends up being attacked, but Seina is overall clueless, and the raid on the ship ebgins. The other problem is that a rather bloodthirsty pirate by the name of Tarant Shank is the leader off the attack, and is on the hunt for Seina. After a lot of running around and fighting, Seina finally runs into Tarant, and soon flees with someone from rescue to pods. In the meanwhile, because Kiriko has learned that Seina is onboard, she decides to start killing pirates herself in invisibility mode. She takes out half the crew this way. Meanwhile, Seina ends up missing the pod exit, and is faced with the monstrosity that is Tarant. Apparently, tarant's father was taken down due to Seina, and Tarant is out for revenge... until Kiriko shows up and stops Tarant. This leads to Seina seeing a bloodstained, almost demonic-looking Kiriko, and he's scared as hell, but goes with her anyways. In the end, Seina apologizes for being so weak, and will try to be stronger (typical male character, anyone?). He's finally pointed to the right ship, and has the other stooges in the show onboard, as well as Kiriko and Amane joining him as they set off on thier first official mission.

Kiddy Grade 23 and 24- With Alv having taken control of the Deucalion, it’s an all-out battle as the GOTT ES members attack the ship, and Eclaire, Lumiere, Chevalier and Dvergr make their way out… though Armbrust and his apparent partner Mercredi must sit out due to their role as auditors. However, there are some roadblocks along the way: first, the Deucalion has an incredible defense, so little works. Second, Alv can somehow repair herself, making things all the more difficult. Third… she manages to absorb Éclair and Lumiere, along with Donnerslag by the end of 23. Jeff then said time to kill the series, so onto 24. Despite the setback of losing the girl, the GOTT is relentless in its attack, with Alv thinking she’s invincible. But one problem: the two girls come back, and Lumiere looks quite a bit older, due to her real ability of Particle. However, it drains a ton of power, so she’s usually in her younger form (I think it’s just to appease lolicons like Erin… and myself). With the two back, the attack keeps going, and Lumiere decides to use her ability in combo with Éclair to tear a hole in Alv’s defenses. When said hole is finally made and attacked, it becomes Game Over for Alv, who is now trapped inside the Deucalion. However, Éclair is in critical condition, and Dvergr uses a power to heal Éclair, as she herself goes to comfort Alv, who is her daughter. Ecalir spends Chevalier’s last moments with him, and he is able to pass on in peace. Thus does this story end, with business resuming as usual at the GOTT, Armbrust tagging along on missions here and there, and Éclair resolving to protect the peace of tomorrow.

Ranma ½ S3 4- When the idiot fathers make Happosai mad at them, he decides to unleash a very powerful attack, basically a huge fireball. The only problem: he can’t use it, due to the secret being hidden away on a scroll. Thus Ranma and the fathers begin the hunt to find the secret, to see if they can learn it before Happosai gets his hands on it. The scroll is hidden in a hot spring (not surprising…), and after a bit of trouble, is retrieve… but none can read it. Making the scroll useless... right? Unfortunately, Happosai remembers how it goes, and we learn what the attack really is: fireworks used at close-range. Despite having remembered, when ranma learns of it, he is able to soon turn the tables on Happosai, and getting rid of him. However, Happosai turns up inside a bag at the end, and gives Ranma a firework… and he becomes a victim.

Thanks! Really wish I could make it to the meetings at least once in a while. Perhaps I will try to squeeze in a guest appearance sometime. Very Happy
