| hotel rooms at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare a very pricey 369 a night!
and 2 rooms may be needed!
that's broke down 4 ways for 3 nights $276.75 and a total of $1107
THAT's just one room. not counting the ride there and back!
Amtrak utica to Chicago, IL - Union Station $70 one way! and 14 hour trip.
this may be beyond us but still over 7 months too go! not any cheaper on expedia

| That’s only 416.75 so say 450.00 (tax) for the hotel and trip back and fourth. Not bad when you take into account it is 7 MONTHS away. People pay this much for 6 months of car insurance coverage and if you have a loan out on you car this is like 3 or 4 payments depending on you car. Now no one said this would be a cheep endeavor, however, if this is our one big trip for the year, this should not be that bad. Think about it like this, in one year now much do you spend on 3 trips to New York, New Jersey? It is not much different.
I will also look around to see if there are any other hotels or alternate ruts of travel available to us. However, people should consider saving a bit each pay check and you will be surprised how fast it can add up.

Train seats are more comfortable and have more leg room, sleeping on them is much easier/comfortable, being able to walk around, the smell in the bathroom, a dining car, sometimes a bar depending on the train. On the side of buses they do stop so you can get out, but other than that I can't think of anything else. I would say they stop and you can go into a diner but anyone who's tried this knows that the food is generally below fast food standards or there is only candy machines where you stop.

| Well, seems so far we've found where we're going to stay... at least we have that much, and at an excellent rate too
The next question (which I'm sure is being worked on) is how much for by train or by bus?

| Bus trips tend to take a long longer than train rides as well. Took me nearly 9 hours to get to Harrisburg Pennsylvania, given all the stops along the way. | |
